Consistency is Key

Image
Proverbs 22:29 AMPC [29] Do you see a man diligent and skillful in his business? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men. Bible Reference -> God loves consistency.  When believers have a consistent prayer life and Bible study, their relationship with God is unwavering. We also need to be diligent in our work on earth as we live out our purpose. Today, I pray that we will have a consistent prayer life and walk with God, along with a diligent spirit, in order to fulfill our God-given purpose.

Mortify the flesh

Colossians 3:1-7 NKJV [1] If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. [2] Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. [3] For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. [4] When Christ who  is  our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. [5] Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. [6] Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, [7] in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them. Bible Reference <- We have a new life in Christ Jesus. This new life is characterized by a lifestyle of Christ-likeness. We are told to put to death any other character that is not Christlike: " Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, ...

Always be ready.

Matthew 25:11-13 NKJV [11] “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’  [12] But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ [13] “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour  in which the Son of Man is coming.  Click here for Scripture reference. There was a parable of 10 virgins told of in the book of Matthew 25. They were on a journey to meet the Bride Groom. Five of them went on their journey with extra oil and the other five didn't make extra preparations and when they ran out of oil, they had to go and buy when the Bride Groom had already arrived. The five prepared virgins went ahead to meet the Bride Groom and the door was shut. Afterward, the other five(unprepared) returned and it was too late for them. In today's scripture, we are advised to watch and pray as we wait for the coming of the Lord so that we do not fall into temptation. Let us live every day with eternity in view. The Holy Sp...

When God glorifies you

Isaiah 55:1-7 NKJV [1] “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price. [2] Why do you spend money for what  is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what  is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance. [3] Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you— The sure mercies of David. [4] Indeed I have given him as  a witness to the people, A leader and commander for the people. [5] Surely you shall call a nation you do not know, And nations who do not know you shall run to you, Because of the Lord your God, And the Holy One of Israel; For He has glorified you.” [6] Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. [7] Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He wi...

A pure life.

Psalms 97:1-12 NKJV [1] The Lord  reigns; Let the earth rejoice; Let the multitude of isles be glad! [2] Clouds and darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. [3] A fire goes before Him, And burns up His enemies round about. [4] His lightnings light the world; The earth sees and trembles. [5] The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the Lord, At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth. [6] The heavens declare His righteousness, And all the peoples see His glory. [7] Let all be put to shame who serve carved images, Who boast of idols. Worship Him, all you gods. [8] Zion hears and is glad, And the daughters of Judah rejoice Because of Your judgments, O Lord. [9] For You, Lord, are  most high above all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods. [10] You who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. [11] Light is sown for the righteous, And gladness fo...

A Kind Of Joy.

Image
Habakkuk 3:17-19 NKJV [17] Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls— [18] Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. [19] The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills. To the Chief Musician. With my stringed instruments. https://bible.com/bible/114/hab.3.17-19.NKJV Do you sometimes wonder where a kind of joy springs up in your soul, even when you are not experiencing good times in your life? This often happens when you praise God during the storm rather than dwelling on your problems. What Happens When We Praise God. 1. The Spirit of God Comes Into Our Presence. Psalm 22:3 - "But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel." 2. The Lord Gives You Victory In Your Battles. II Chronicles 20:22 - "Now when...

Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV [18] And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. [19] Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. https://bible.com/bible/114/mat.28.18-20.NKJV I like to term this passage as a loving good bye letter from Jesus to His disciples.  In His farewell,  He assured us that, He is Lord and all authority is His. Sometimes this knowledge escapses we believers and because the things of the Spirit work when faith is applied, is was necessary for that assurance to be made. Jesus gave us a mandate to go out and make disciples in the world because, it is not His will that any should perish but all shall come to salvation in Christ Jesus .  II Peter 3:9 NKJV [9] The Lord is not slack concer...

Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Romans 8:1-8 NKJV [1] There  is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. [2] For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. [3] For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, [4] that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. [5] For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who  live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. [6] For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. [7] Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. [8] So then, those who a...

After life on earth...

Image
It’s mind-baffling to realize that life on Earth is temporary, and when it ends, an eternal home awaits us.  There are two places of eternity in existence.  Heaven: Where God, His angels and the saints of God are.  Hell: Where the devil, his demons and those humans who didn't make heaven are. Everyone will someday leave this earth: Through death or rapture (The return of Jesus for His saints on earth). Hebrews 9:27-28 NKJV [27] And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, [28] so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. https://bible.com/bible/114/heb.9.27-28.NKJV The choice to know where to spend eternity can be done on earth as we still have live. Jesus came to die so that we would have eternal life.  Receive Him into your life today and surrender unto Him to guide you. Thank you for reading. Please share to bless a soul.

Praise In The Storm.

Do you remember what Paul and Silas did at midnight when they were thrown into prison?  Acts 16:25-32 NKJV [25] But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.  [26] Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.  [27] And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself.  [28] But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, “Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.”  [29] Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas.  [30] And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”  [31] So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”  [32] Then they spoke the w...

Through The Pain.

Image
Difficult days are days of trial and growth.  3 facts  1. They will certainly come.  The only time trials will not come is in heaven. 2. You have 2 choices: Do what is right or get carried away with the pain. The best thing to do is to cry out to God instead of trying to handle things on your own. 3. It is a time to get tough skin over pain.  Pain is inevitable but we have to learn how to handle pain in the right way.      Today I read Psalm 57 through my pain and I realize that there is a need to cry out to God for help because He is there for us. So today, I choose to call out to God.  Psalm 57:1 Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You. In the shadow of Your wings, I will make my refuge. Until these calamities have passed by.

Our Light And Life.

Image
The title was inspired by a young girl curious about how life came about. She asked questions and was told that God created the Universe and everything that exists today. She was a little satisfied but still had some questions. Questions no one could answer. She began to read books and landed on a book by a man named John. This John wrote on how everything that was made came about. In his explanation, there was a Word and by that Word, everything that was made came into existence. So there is the distinction between created things and the Creator. The Word Is God. John explains that before anything was made(in the beginning), the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1      In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. In this passage, we see more than One Person mentioned as One was with God.  Was The Word Made or Created? This is a question I want us to ponder. John 1:2,      He was in the b...
