A Kind Of Joy.

Habakkuk 3:17-19 NKJV

[17] Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls— [18] Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. [19] The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills. To the Chief Musician. With my stringed instruments.

Do you sometimes wonder where a kind of joy springs up in your soul, even when you are not experiencing good times in your life?

This often happens when you praise God during the storm rather than dwelling on your problems.

What Happens When We Praise God.

1. The Spirit of God Comes Into Our Presence.

Psalm 22:3 - "But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel."

2. The Lord Gives You Victory In Your Battles.

II Chronicles 20:22 - "Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated." 

3. Miracles Happen.

Acts 16:25-26 - But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. [26] Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.

4. We Are Being Obedient To God.

Psalms 100:4  - Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.

5. Strengthens Our Relationship With God.

Hebrews 13:15  - Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.
