Praise In The Storm.

Do you remember what Paul and Silas did at midnight when they were thrown into prison?

Acts 16:25-32 NKJV
[25] But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.
[26] Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.
[27] And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself.
[28] But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, “Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.”
[29] Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas.
[30] And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
[31] So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
[32] Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house.

Guess what the church did when Peter was thrown into prison and how that turned out.

Acts 12:5-11 NKJV
[5] Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.
[6] And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison.
[7] Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands.
[8] Then the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him, “Put on your garment and follow me.”
[9] So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision.
[10] When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.
[11] And when Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.”

Today I suggest that in time of trouble constantly praise and pray to God in faith and he will come through for you.

My Psalm of praise today is Psalm 30.

Psalms 30:1-12 NKJV
[1] I will extol You, O Lord, for You have lifted me up, And have not let my foes rejoice over me.
[2] O Lord my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me.
[3] O Lord, You brought my soul up from the grave; You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
[4] Sing praise to the Lord, you saints of His, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.
[5] For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.
[6] Now in my prosperity I said, “I shall never be moved.”
[7] Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain stand strong; You hid Your face, and I was troubled.
[8] I cried out to You, O Lord; And to the Lord I made supplication:
[9] “What profit is there in my blood, When I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth?
[10] Hear, O Lord, and have mercy on me; Lord, be my helper!”
[11] You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
[12] To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.
