Always be ready.

 

Matthew 25:11-13 NKJV

[11] “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’  [12] But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ [13] “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour  in which the Son of Man is coming.

There was a parable of 10 virgins told of in the book of Matthew 25. They were on a journey to meet the Bride Groom. Five of them went on their journey with extra oil and the other five didn't make extra preparations and when they ran out of oil, they had to go and buy when the Bride Groom had already arrived. The five prepared virgins went ahead to meet the Bride Groom and the door was shut. Afterward, the other five(unprepared) returned and it was too late for them.

In today's scripture, we are advised to watch and pray as we wait for the coming of the Lord so that we do not fall into temptation. Let us live every day with eternity in view. The Holy Spirit is here to help us to live in anticipation of our King every single day.
