"I do" is a statement that crowns weddings, representing a pledge and a covenant between God and the couple. Though only two words, it seals a promise that fulfills God's purpose for humanity in marriage. Today, we reflect on sealing a promise to fulfill God's purpose for our lives—hence the title, 'Dear God, "I do."' I n the Bible there was a young man named Jeremiah. God's word and plan for his life were revealed to him while he was still young. His initial response to God was not "I do"; instead, he made excuses for why he could not fulfill what God was asking of him. God's reply was reassuring: Jeremiah should not limit himself because of his youth, for God would be with him to help him fulfill the calling on his life. From this scripture, we can identify seven reasons why we must not underestimate ourselves but instead respond to God's call to fulfill His purpose for our lives. Let's read Jeremiah 1:4-10,...
As a child, I used to think about eternity and the state of never dying to the point of getting gripped with fear. It has always been my desire to find out more about the life ahead after physical death and of course, it is the truth I always looked out for. I read and listened to many teachings. Matthew 7:21, "Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord will inherit the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father in...
Psalms 91:1 NKJV [1] He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. https://bible.com/bible/114/psa.91.1.NKJV Today, in my Bible study, I learnt that those who stay in God's presence will be kept safe under the shadow of His wings and feathers. I asked myself the question. Where is God's secret place and what does it mean to abide there? Almost immediately, God placed the answers in my spirit. Dilligently spending quality time with God in obedience to His will is dwelling in His secret place. Today it is my prayer that, God will train us to dwell in His secret place, every day of our lives, Amen. God bless you. Please share.
