Faithfulness To God : Fear Him and keep His Word.
TEXT FOR TODAY - Isaiah 8:11-13 NIV
[11] This is what the Lord says to me with his strong hand upon me, warning me not to follow the way of this people: [12] “Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls a conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it. [13] The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread.
A conspiracy is a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful. In today's verse, God admonishes His people not to follow after people blindly but rather to seek God and fear him.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 echoes this point beautifully.
[13] Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. [14] For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.
