So, tell me: Who is your go-to for help?

Image
It is common for individuals to seek help from close family members, friends, religious leaders, spouses, healthcare professionals, and support groups during tough times. This is understandable since we interact with them regularly and they are the ones we physically see.  However, we should not forget that there is One who oversees even those we see. We may wonder whether it is necessary to share every trouble we face with God. Some may feel that we might be bothering Him or He may get tired of us.  To answer these questions, we can look to references from the scriptures.   Jeremiah 33:3 says, "Call unto Me and I will show you great and mighty things that you do not know." Psalms‬ ‭121:1‭-‬8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ [1] I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? [2] My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. [3] He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. [4] Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. [5] Th

Go light your World.

Image
Light up your world. The Lord has graciously gifted every individual with something that can bring light to others. This could be your words of encouragement, hospitality, or simply your ability to brighten up a gloomy situation. Regardless of what it is, always remember that you are meant to impact others with it. The Bible admonishes us to arise and shine in Isaiah 60:1 - "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you." But how do we shine if we don't feel lighted up ourselves? How can we shine when we are filled with sorrow and gloom every day? How do we radiate brightness when we need some light in our lives? Today, I pray that you receive answers to those prayers you make for situations that make you feel incapable of glowing out into the world. What happens when we shine? Matthew  5:15-16 says, "Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your l

The Greatest Gift Of All

Image
The Greatest Gift Of All John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."  God desires that all men should be saved, and for this reason, He sent His Son Jesus to die for us and save us from our sins. In 1 Timothy 2:4, it is written that God "desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." The greatest gift of all time is Jesus Christ, our Savior, who reconciles us back to God. As believers, our goal should be to make ourselves available to the Lord, so that He can work through us to share His message with others. After all, how can people hear the message of the Gospel unless someone is sent to preach it to them? We have received the gift of salvation and reconciliation with God freely, and we should be willing to share it freely with those around us. Matt 10:8 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye ha

Miracles Happen When You Believe

We Have A God Who Is All-Powerful. ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭32:17, 27 ‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ [17] ‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You. [27] “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?  When we realize that we have a Father who can turn impossible situations into possible situations, our fears disappear. By studying the Word of God, we overcome anxiety and uncertainty and gain a strong faith that can move mountains.  Often, we lack sufficient faith to receive our desired blessings from God. Faith is the heavenly currency that can be used to purchase blessings.  It's crucial to maintain a righteous relationship with God to apply faith and receive answers. How do we receive faith? We learn from God's word that "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God." Romans 10:17.  Jesus Christ is the embodiment of God's Word. When we have a relationship

Yuletide With Gratitude

Image
Merry Christmas! On Christmas Day, I learned a hard lesson about gratitude. God showed me the importance of appreciating what He has blessed me with rather than complaining about what I wished I had.  God says in Hebrews‬ ‭13:5‬ that, "[5] Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” NKJV He teaches us in His word to be anxious for nothing, instead we should bring all our requests to Him in prayer.  Philippians‬ ‭4:6‭-‬7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ [6] Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; [7] and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Let us begin by expressing gratitude to God for all the blessings we have received. As we enumerate them one by one, we will realize how fortunate we are. May you continue to be blessed, and once again, Me

The Star In The East.

Image
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭2:1‭-‬2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ [1] Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, [2] saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.” Christmas is a time of joy and celebration, marked by gift-giving, parties, and spending time with loved ones. However, it is important to remember that the true meaning of Christmas is not just about Santa Claus, Christmas trees, and twinkling lights. The true focus of Christmas should be on Jesus. This is a time to reflect on the greatest gift of all - Jesus Christ, who was sent to earth to save us from our sins. He is the reason for our joy and celebrations during this special time. Let us all take a moment to be grateful for this amazing gift that has been given to us. The Wise Men Followed The Star. In the Bible, it is said that the wise men followed the star in the East to find Jesus. How can w

REMEMBER THE GOAL

Image
THE GOAL Have you ever stopped to think about what your main goal in life is? Take a moment to consider it and write down three reasons why it is your main goal. I, too, have pondered this topic many times, and I finally found my answer in Philippians 3:12: "Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus also laid hold of me." In this verse, Paul expressed his desire to achieve spiritual perfection through Christ. Though he hadn't achieved it yet, he hoped to do so by pressing on and ultimately being reunited with the Lord. In the beginning, man sinned and was separated from God. Then God sent His Son Jesus to save us by dying and sacrificing His life for us to reunite us with the Lord.  The main reason for Christ's saving grace is to enable all who believe to achieve this ultimate goal of spiritual perfection in the likeness of Christ and eternal life in the presence of God. The verse is a

BEAUTY BEYOND ASHES.

Image
Inner beauty. For God does not look at the outward appearance but God looks at the heart. Today we discuss the essence of maintaining our true beauty in the sight of God.  In 1 Samuel 16, God sent Samuel to go to the house of Jesse to anoint one of his sons as the new king of Israel. When Samuel arrived, he was awed by the stature of Jesse's first son and said, "This must be the Lord's chosen one." This was the Lord's reply, “... Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the  Lord  does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” I Samuel‬ ‭16:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ " In the long run, David, the shepherd boy was the one chosen as king over the Lord’s people.  This teaches us that many things we may perceive as unworthy in life, from the perspective of God, can actually be chosen by Him. This post is intended to uplift all those who may feel insignificant or undervalued bec

The Temptation.

Image
In a world filled with many desirable things, it is easy to identify that not all things that entice us are pleasing to God. Sometimes the temptations are so strong that we fall prey. Today, we will discuss the ultimate antidote to overcoming temptations.  The Psalmist says in Psalm 119:11, "Your word have I hidden in my heart that I may not sin against you." The word of God is one of the paramount weapons used in overcoming temptations. The word must abide in our hearts though meditation and constant reading. We also overcome temptation through prayer. Communication with God helps us to build a relationship with Him. A good and personal relationship with God helps us to know Him well and do things pleasing unto him. It is essential to spend good (quality) time with God daily in the word and prayer. As the word of God encourages us to pray without ceasing, we have the privilege to communicate with God at any momment. Whether we are on our way to class, having a meal, studyin

The Unexpected Visit

Image
There are moments in life when we desperately need God's help. David was in one of these moments, and in some of his anguished cries, he felt that God was very far away.  Psalms‬ ‭71:12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ [12] O God, do not be far from me; O my God, make haste to help me! The waiting room may be difficult, but we can trust in God's plans for us. They are plans for good, not for harm, to give us a future and a hope.  Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ [11] For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.  In the Bible, there was a woman who had been suffering from a blood issue for many years. She had spent all her savings on physicians, but they couldn't cure her. Finally, she turned to Jesus for help. Mark‬ ‭5:25‭-‬29‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ [25] Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, [26] and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew

THE PRICELESS JEWEL

Image
The Jewel  "A jewel is a precious gemstone of high value. It symbolizes something or someone that holds much worth and is highly cherished. If a friend were to ask for your most precious jewel, you would likely act with caution and not be careless." Just as we protect our valuable items, it's important to remember that God is also fiercely protective of us. Trust that you are always in His care, safe and secure under His watchful and loving eye. He says in Zachariah 2:8 that we are the apple of His eye so rest assured, those who dare to tamper with us shall face the repercussions. I Am A Princess We are children of the most High God, The King of kings and the Lord of lords. What then are we called? Kings and Priests. Jesus' work on the cross has made us "...kings and priests and to our God; And we shall reign on the earth" Revelation 5:10. This is our identity as children of God. This knowledge is sufficient to make us fearless in Christ. This is because we

TILL ETERNITY.

Image
My Childhood Ruminations. When I was younger, I used to think about what would happen after this life on earth. I pondered so deeply that I couldn't comprehend it all. I even cried out to my father because I was troubled in my mind. Sometimes, these thoughts were so overwhelming that I couldn't even sleep.  Psalms 41:13 NKJV [13] Blessed be the Lord God of Israel From everlasting to everlasting! Amen and Amen. God is majestic and it is sometimes impossible to understand all His ways. He has no beginning and no end. We live in a physical world where everything seems to have a beginning and end. God in His eternal nature created our souls to exist eternally, but the question is where are our souls going to exist for eternity?   Will we experience God's magnificent presence in heaven to such an extent that an entire eternity would not be enough to express our adoration and admiration? Or tormented by unbearable pain in hell, which would be impossible to withstand even

ASSURED AND UNSHAKEN

Image
Psalm 23 [1] The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. [2] He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. [3] He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.  [4] Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. [5] You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.  [6] Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever. This is our story as children of God. God has promised us in His word that He is going to take care of us. We have found Someone that will hold our hands and never let go of us. He has promised to stand with us and bring us so much joy. In times of trouble, He is there and is not absent in times of sorrow or joy. We have a God who never fails so, our duty is to put our trust in Him

WHEN THE UNEXPECTED HAPPENS.

Image
THE BLOWS. At a certain point in life, almost everything seemed not to work out in my favor, especially in my academics. The blow was so massive that, it was impossible to comprehend exactly what was going on and I wondered why it was happening to me. These situations were unexpected because it had never happened that way in my life. I went through a lot of sorrow and distress. I felt I didn’t deserve such and I could do nothing about them so I cried out to God. THE POWER OF CONSTANT PRAYER. I cried out to God and prayed earnestly when I saw the discouraging results [BUT NOT DURING THE PROCESS OF MY STUDY]. I learned that we mustn’t come to God only when we find ourselves in trouble, but we must walk the whole journey of our lives with God. I started doing that after the lesson and by God’s grace, I have seen positive results.  Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ [6] Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known

My talent - Your Glory

Image
Talents from God. God has blessed us humans with talents out of the abundance of His love and Power. As stated in an earlier post, God has given His beloved diversities of talents. These are to portray the wonders of God and to honor Him. God deserves all the glory. When we blossom with our talents, we must not take the credit. Our attitude should always be: Glory be to God! (Philippians 4:13), Him -Our God is our Source and our Help. Don’t fail to cultivate your talent. Many people are good at some things but need to pay attention to them. This is not the plan God had when he put it in us. We must not neglect the numerous talents God has given us. At a point in time in my life, I focused on only one thing, my formal education, and ignored all the numerous talents God had blessed me with. Though I had a burning desire to train in those areas, I felt so occupied, and spending a minute a day training those talents cost me much. For example, if I am good at musical instruments an
