Intimacy with the Holy Spirit

Image
This is the August edition of my “Encountering God” series. I feel led to discuss our relationship with the Holy Spirit. Firstly, I want to emphatically state that we cannot live a life pleasing unto God without the help of the Holy Spirit. He is a Person in the God-Head. We can feel His Presence when we accommodate Him in our lives. Someday we will meet Him in Heaven.   Right now, it is crucial to build a relationship with Him. The Bible says we have Him as Our Helper and Comforter. Sometimes even I do not fully take advantage of His role when I am down, and He prompts me to talk to Him.  The Holy Spirit helps us remember and realize that life is not just about the things around us but there is more depth to life in its spiritual sense and that all we do on earth will be accounted for by us to God someday.  If you are lonely, it is the perfect time to increase your intimacy with the Holy Spirit. If you are filled with joy, share it with Him. He should be our closest fri...

We will exist forever...

When I was little, I used to think about eternity and the state of never dying to the point of getting gripped with fear. It has always been my desire to find out more about the life ahead after physical death and of course, it is the truth I always looked out for.     I read and listened to many teachings. I also heard many testimonies of people dying and coming back but this one stood out to me the most.  I found some scriptures I would like to quote to you  Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through His Son Jesus Christ" Romans 10: 9-10, NKJV‬ " [9] that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. [10] For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation." Matthew 7:21, "Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord will inherit the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Fa...

The Real Life: Ready?

Image
Photo by Andrea Piacquadio: Will you be amazed to know that death is not the end of life but rather the beginning? This is because, at death only our bodies cease to exist. Our true self, soul and spirit will last forever.  Before sin entered the world, God planned it from the beginning of the earth to give us a perfect life in His eternal image.  After sin, we needed a redemption else, there was no hope for this plan anymore as we were bound to be seperated from God (also known as death). ‭Romans 6:23 NKJV ‬ [23] For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Jesus came to reconcile us back to God so that as many as receive Him will have no condemnation in sin or death. The transaction was done through His death on the cross and His resurrection from the dead on the third day. So death is where the real life begins. A life planned by God from the beginning. A life in God's presence that never ends. Suicide is not a way to ...

THE ENCOUNTER

Image
I met a man who claims he has been set free from what he calls 'the lies' about the existence of God. He lived in a garden close to where I usually go and pray. He made some statements that proved that he doesn't believe in God anymore but knows that life originated from 'a god' as he called it. I was uncomfortable because he looked scary and that place was secluded from the main campus.  I had to pause with my prayer (which I later regretted) and listened to him for what felt like an eternity. I asked him whether he ever experienced God personally and he said, 'It is normal for people to be led by emotions because that is what they have come to believe'. I was sad because this gentleman claimed he was born and brought up in a church but now, he has found what he calls 'truth'.  He continued and said, it happens to everyone at a point in their lives when they would realize that all these stories were made up. At that point, I knew I had to leave. H...

HOLINESS AND HEAVEN

‭ Photo by Tom Fisk: link Malachi 3:16-18 CEV‬ [16] All those who truly respected the Lord and honored his name started discussing these things, and when God saw what was happening, he had their names written as a reminder in his book. [17] Then the Lord All-Powerful said: You people are precious to me, and when I come to bring justice, I will protect you, just as parents protect an obedient child. [18] Then everyone will once again see the difference between those who obey me by doing right and those who reject me by doing wrong. https://bible.com/bible/392/mal.3.16-18. Contemporary English Version In today's reading,  the Lord talks about those who fear Him. God is passionate about them and promises to protect them when He, God, will come and bring justice to the earth. God talks about how the obedient will be differentiated from the disobedient. He calls those who do right, the obedient, and those who do wrong, those who reject Him.    Today, we are saved by Jesu...

Corruption Of The World

Image
Current state of the world  This world is full of destruction because sin entered through our disobedience unto God. Ever since there has been destruction by the devil. God loved us and sent His Son to reconcile us back unto Him through His death and the shedding of His blood as a sacrifice for the atonement of our sins. God's love exhibited in a grand display Psalm 107:20  "He sent His Word and healed them, And delivered them from their destruction." Now all men have the right to become children of God if they confess with their mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in the hearts that God raised Him from the dead, they will be saved. (Romans 10:9) Jesus came to save us from the destruction that comes upon anyone who is separated from God. The devil came to kill, steal, and destroy. He keeps on deceiving many with temporal enjoyment. The Lord calls unto us to beware of the schemes of the evil one because he has nothing good to offer.  What we should do Beloved, the time on ear...
