Scriptures of focus: Psalm 73:1-2, 23-24, 27-28.

1. Truly God is good to Israel,
To such as are pure in heart.
2. But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled;
My steps had nearly slipped.

23. Nevertheless, I am continually with You;
You hold me by my right hand.
24. You will guide me with Your counsel,
And afterward, receive me to glory.

27. For indeed, those who are far from You shall perish;
You have destroyed all those who [h]desert You for harlotry.
28. But it is good for me to draw near to God;
I have put my trust in the Lord God,
That I may declare all Your works.

There are times when you feel God is very far from you due to the circumstances you are facing or the challenges that come your way. The psalmist in today's passage felt the same way. This is how he described it, “But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled; My steps had nearly slipped”. He thought good things happened to the wicked and bad things happened to him(the righteous).

He later discovered that the wicked are in a much more dangerous position because the Almighty God appalls evil. He realized at the end of his pondering that God is indeed God to those who are pure in heart.

Friends, no matter what you are going through, remember that God is with you. Let us make a conscious effort to live holy and pure lives as we surrender unto the Holy Spirit to help us because God is indeed good to those who are pure in heart.
