God’s Power Over Unclean Spirits.

Our All-Powerful God in His mercy gave a special grace to His disciples; The power to cast out unclean spirits. Unclean spirits are fallen angels who rebelled against God and followed the devil.

Let’s look at some verses in the Bible. In this first one, Jesus was speaking; Luke 10:18, ‘And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightening from heaven”’.

Revelation 12:9 NKJV

[9] So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Job 2:2 NKJV

[2] And the Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.”

The devil was cast to the earth after the rebellion. But in the next verse (19) of our main scripture Luke 10, Jesus said, “Behold I give you authority to trample over serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

Let’s consider God’s grace and power given unto us in Matthew 10:1, NKJV

[1] And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.

The Lord has this grace for us His disciples, but without the infilling of the Holy Spirit how can we manifest this power? In Acts 1:8, Jesus explains the correlation between the Holy Spirit and Power from God. Acts 1:8, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

When Jesus was leaving the earth He mentioned the same grace we talk about today; Mark 16:17-18 NKJV

[17] And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;  [18] they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Let us keep on thanking God for this grace and let us work in this dimension of spiritual authority as we are led by the Spirit of God.
