Purpose In Life.
Walk in your purpose.
Many people are unaware of their purpose in life. Often, individuals find themselves asking, "What exactly am I on earth for?" Let's start with a few fundamental facts. No human being created themselves; we are all brought into this world by God, our Creator, who has a specific reason for our existence. However, many individuals have yet to discover their life's purpose or are living in contradiction to it.
So, what is our purpose in life?
Ecclesiastes 12:13 NKJV
[13] Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man's all.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 AMPC
[13] All has been heard; the end of the matter is: Fear God [revere and worship Him, knowing that He is] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of man [the full, original purpose of his creation, the object of God's providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the adjustment to all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun] and the whole duty for every man.
But what does it mean to fear God? It doesn't imply being physically afraid of Him; rather, it involves respecting and honoring Him. A good analogy is the reverence we show towards General Overseers in our churches. We hold them in high regard and listen to their instructions. Similarly, we should obey the Lord, who is the overseer of our very existence, in an even greater way. God deserves our utmost reverence and obedience, yet we often overlook this, mistakenly dismissing it as "being too spiritual," forgetting that it is our very purpose.
One might wonder, "How do I know if God is pleased with me when I cannot see Him?" or "How can we revere God when He is invisible?" The answer lies in John 4:24 NKJV:
[24] God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
In John 14:15, God's word tells us that our love for Him is demonstrated through our obedience to His commands. We are also assured that if we draw near to God, He will draw near to us. The simplest way to please God, revere Him, and worship Him with our lives is by maintaining closeness to Him. We can achieve this by intentionally setting aside time each day to be with Him, engaging in His word and prayer.
Let me conclude with a verse that will provide food for thought:
[1] Remember earnestly your Creator, understanding that you are not your own but His property, during the days of your youth, before the arrival of difficult times or the approach of years in which you will say, "I have no enjoyment in them" (Ecclesiastes 12:1).
